Three common service centres inaugurated
Three common service centres (CSC) to issue plastic Aadhaar cards to the public were inaugurated here on Thursday.
District Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy inaugurated the centre at the Collectorate that would be run by Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (ELCOT).
He said that the common service centres run by ELCOT and Arasu Cable TV Corporation was functioning in the district to provide better service to the people. Apart from obtaining certificates related to revenue department, social welfare department and marriage assistance service, colour Aadhaar Cards were available in these centres.
Three centres, one at Collectorate, Revenue Inspectors office in Pallipalayam and Puduchatram would provide colour cards.
Public who did not get the cards or the number can provide the EID number and pay Rs. 40 to get the cards.
Public who has big size Aadhaar card, can pay Rs. 30 and get small size colour cards.
For each additional card, one should pay Rs. 30, he added.
Also, public can pay Rs. 10 and link their mobile number with their Aadhaar card.
A total of 30,280 colour Aadhaar cards were provided to the public so far fetching revenue of Rs. 9,08,400 to the district administration.
He requested the people to utilise the service and obtain the necessary certificates and the card. ELCOT branch manager J. Loganathan, engineers M. Ramprakash, R. Arunkumaran, Nithyasri and others participated.
