The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has provided 1.05 billion Aadhaar numbers as on 7 September 2016. The identification enables smooth roll out of various government-related services. It is the world’s largest biometrics-based identification system.
UIDAI has the capacity to generate and dispatch over 1.5 million Aadhaar cards every day.
